I grew up in Mankato and graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College.
My lifelong interest in investing and finance started as a young boy when my parents bought stock for all of my siblings and myself. I followed my stocks closely and couldn’t wait to get my statements to see how the values of my positions had grown. It was like Christmas every quarter.
After college I started in sales, and then at the age of 26, bought my first business, The Liquor Locker in Avon, MN. Working with my brother, we also bought a failing bar, and opened a pizzeria. We built both into viable businesses, and eventually sold them for a profit. Over the next two decades working in the liquor and food business, the two of us started three businesses from scratch while owning and operating a total of six. While others read about the challenges one faces and the satisfaction one gets from owning your own business, I lived it… and have had a rewarding 27 year career.
My success in business was due to honesty, dedication and hard work. Now as I join the Diversified Wealth Management team, let me put those qualities to work for you. I enjoy being active in my community. I’ve been a parent helper in Cub and Boy Scouts, and recently joined the Boy Scout Troop Advisory Committee. I have served as President of the Avon Lions Club and still organize the annual Easter Egg Hunt. I also serve as an assistant basketball and baseball coach in area youth sports programs.
My wife Ann and I live south of Avon with our three children.
